My son was born sick and he needed lots of meds; some that would keep him upset and always crying as he was going from one hospital to another until he was two months old. Finally someone told me of the blanket wrapping. This I'd never done to any of my other four children I'd always let them have all the room they needed to 'flow'; this was always my way. But I will tell you that it was a blessing to find a way for my son to finally get some peaceful rest. He was finally sleeping - not crying, not jerking all the time - he really loved being wrapped up in this blanket. It didn't seem right at first; I'd always done my others differently. It actually took will power to feel good about wrapping my son. But it was the best possible treatment ever. I feel every one could have as much to learn from others as I did. He was so happy, warm and peaceful, but most of all he sleep 'like a baby'. I have found the miracle blanket to be a REAL MIRACLE!!!!! My little [one]does not like to sleep on his back at all, any time, day or night. During the day I was lucky to get a 20 minute nap out of him on his back. He is 12 weeks old and the longest sleep he gets is on his side for 5 hours at night. The day I got the Miracle Blanket I used it for a nap in the afternoon and he slept for 3 hours and I had to wake him up!!!! That night he slept for 6 hours!!!! He also needs to be placed in his bassinet to sleep after he has fallen asleep or he will freak out. With the blanket on he was placed in his bassinet and he smiled and went to sleep!!! I cannot tell you how wonderful this has been.

I read about the Miracle Blanket in rave reviews on the pregnancyandbaby.com message boards. Many new moms said the Miracle Blanket was indeed the "miracle" that got baby to sleep. I purchased two Miracle Blankets in May, gave them to my daughter at her shower in September & our twin grandsons were born on October 29. The first day or two at home the babies were a little fussy & my daughter remembered the Miracle Blankets. She & her husband swaddled the babies & from that day on the boys have been on a great schedule & now sleep for 4 or 5 hours at a time (they were premies - born at 34 1/2 weeks).
My only comment is that I realize that in every picture we have of the twins they are wearing their Miracle Blankets - it looks like all of the pictures were taken on the same day or these poor babies don't have anything else to wear! We have to remember to take photos before we put on their Miracle Blankets.

We ordered our MB when our son Kyle was about 6 weeks old. Almost overnight he had turned fussy, and our doctor recommended that we just wait it out. He was barely sleeping at night, and screamed much of the day. We had swaddled him since day one and he responded well to it, but was beginning to kick out of the receiving blanket because he was getting stronger.

The MB was exactly that - a miracle! Using it, Kyle went from sleeping 45 minutes at a time to 3 hours at a time. He was still fussy during the day, but we noticed a great change in his personality when he was well-rested. We used the MB to swaddle him when he nursed, and he was able to stay calm and eat more at each feeding.

By 12 weeks, Kyle's fussiness had almost disappeared, but he still loved his MB. Every nap and at night time, he always slept better with it. Now at 16 weeks, we are starting to slowly wean him from the blanket by keeping one arm out and letting him suck on his hand.

We love this blanket! It was a lifesaver for all of us during a very difficult period. I have no doubt we will use it for a few more months.

I spoke to you back in May when I ordered my first Miracle Blanket. I wanted to change my shipping to next day and you were great at doing that. That was very nice of you. As I said, I would be giving it to a pregnant friend of mine as a shower gift. I gave her this in August. I have to say that her mother and many others at the shower I know were thinking, "What the heck?!! What kind of contraption is this, there is no way I would use it." I had told my friend all about how great the blanket was with our daughter and she knew ahead of time what it was. I wasn't so sure she would use it though. So the baby finally arrived and I called her one day and her exact words were "You know that blanket really is a miracle!!" She said her son would not sleep well without it. I was so happy that she loved it. She called to order another one from you! So you have another believer! My daughter is now 5 months and we stopped swaddling a little after 4. She kind of hated it and was getting big for it. We would still wrap it around her body to keep her feeling "snug and warm". I have to say though, she was sick this past week and very fussy one night. The only thing that got her to sleep was wrapping her up again. We have to leave her legs out because she is too long, but we swaddled her arms again. I did that for 3 nights and then stopped. She is sleeping great again.

I received the Miracle Blanket today. It IS a miracle!!! My son is almost 7 weeks. In the past few weeks he has grown so much that swaddling in regular blankets has not been working. During the day he hasn't been napping for longer than 30 minutes and it takes me as long as an hour to even get him to sleep. Well as soon as the Miracle Blanket arrived I washed and dried it. Thanks for the quick response! It is true that as soon as my friend loaned me her Miracle Blanket, and my one twin (who has his daddy's tendancy to constantly wave his hands around) slept more soundly than he ever did, I knew I needed to have my own blankets. One thing that I did notice that was different from my friend's blanket and the one's that I ordered, the newer blankets have a deeper "leg pocket" which seems to work much better too! We were skeptical at first too & with this being our last baby, we didn't really want to fork out $30 for a possible gimmick. But I read a testimonial on here (before the forums) and contacted the poster who was from the May 2003 baby forum and they (several may03 mothers) convinced me to try it. I am SO GLAD they did, it truly is the best $30 I have ever spent. Our little guy would fuss, cry, scream for hours in the evening - this put an end to it. It wasn't an immediate effect but within a week or 2. Now for us, it really hasn't prolonged our BF baby's sleep pattern (oh, how I envy those getting more than 3+ hours sleep!!! (Someday!!!)

And I swear my daycare person would make me drive back home(clear across town) if I forgot to bring [The Miracle Blanket] with me to daycare. I am completely sold on your product. My 7 wk. old daughter normally slept only 1 1/2 - 2 hr periods at night. I looked at your website a few weeks ago and decided to tough it out but when she didn't start to sleep longer, I ordered it last Sunday. I just wanted to say THANK YOU!!!!!! My preemie son has had a HORRIBLE time sleeping on his own since he was born. He's 5 1/2 weeks old and has had to sleep in my arms every night since he's been home from the hospital (so this means that I haven't slept soundly since before he was born!).

A friend suggested that I try the miracle blanket to sooth him. I told her that I had tried swaddling before, and it never worked for my baby. You're right! I can't imagine dealing without a blanket while waiting for a new one :) I post on a message board (www.ovusoft.com) and EVERYONE that has a Miracle Blanket just raves about how well it works. Anytime anyone has a baby that sounds like they could benefit from swaddling, they get 3 or 4 people (at least!) telling them that they need to check out your blanket. Your excellent customer service is the clincher and is the reason that people are willing to pay the price that you're asking. I can't say enough good things about your product. I had already survived 4 months plus of a fussy daughter 2 years ago. So when my son was born this June I totally felt prepared for anything. I just received the Miracle Blanket yesterday and used it last night. The only reason I am even able to write to you is because my daughter is still asleep this morning. I read the book "Happiest Baby on The Block" by Dr. Karp and was having great success in getting my 6 week old baby to sleep finally. I have to take the time to tell you that yes - the Miracle Blanket truly is a miracle!! You have saved our lives. I know that sounds dramatic, but to sleep deprived parents, it is truly incredible. Our baby boy, Joaquin, is a good baby, but nights were difficult to say the least. He simply could not sleep on his back in his crib, or at least not for very long. His arms and legs would flail about and he would startle himself out of sleep. That is, if we could even get him to sleep, because he would be kicking and moving his arms so much he couldn't settle down. He became so overtired and would cry inconsolably. It would take us hours of rocking him to make him doze off and then he would end up having to sleep sitting up in his car seat because he was more snug there than in his crib.
Then, in the course of emailing back and forth to my cousin, who also has a newborn, he asked me if I tried swaddling my son. I laughed to myself and wrote to him how impossible it was because he kicked out of his blanket in 2 minutes. Also, he had already outgrown the receiving blankets that the hospital staff had shown us to use to swaddle him. So he told me about the Miracle Blanket. I had tried so many other ways to put him to sleep I wasn't sure this method was going to be any better, but I had nothing to lose (except another sleepless night!). I called up and asked for overnight shipping (I was desperate to get that blanket).
My husband was skeptical that this "special" blanket was going to work, but lo and behold - it was the first night that our son slept through the night! In fact we woke up in the middle of the night a bit panicked because we hadn't heard a peep out of him. When we ran into his nursery to check on him, there he lay, on his back, snuggled in the blanket, looking as content as could be. It has now been a blissful week since we first received the blanket and our baby boy actually smiles as I'm wrapping him up in it for the night. At first my husband thought he looked like a mummy from the shoulders down, but our son loves the secure feeling of being all tucked in, his arms aren't flailing, and he's a happier baby because he gets his proper rest.
I have already told several of my friends, who have all become parents around the same time, and one due in August, about the miracle blanket. I've even done a demonstration and they were amazed at how he settled down right away.

Just a note to let you know that Stella and I are still successfully using your Miracle Blanket. Hopefully soon we won't need it - no offense - and she'll sleep more soundly on her own, but for now it is great. She is getting much more coordinated with her arms and legs and there is no way I could swaddle her in a regular blanket now!
Also, I wanted to let you know that perhaps another selling point that you could utilize is the convenience of travelling with this blanket. Not only is it comforting to the baby to have the same blanket during travel, but it is easy for mom to use on the airplane. I had Stella in an infant carrier (Baby Bjorn) while I boarded the plane and had to get her swaddled and nursing while sitting in my airplane seat... man, those seats just get smaller and smaller.
Anyway, I was able to get her swaddled by placing the miracle blanket on my lap with the foot pouch just past my knees and her head in my lap. People were a bit taken aback by the "straight jacket" look, but once she calmed down and started nursing and then SLEPT for the entire time, they didn't care what it looked like - it worked! No way I'd get her swaddled in a regular blanket in an airplane seat. I think the whole flight thanks you.

She slept 7 hours last night and for 6 the night before ... and is taking a nice, long nap now. AND - here's another selling point - we had a baby sitter last night so we could celebrate our anniversary and explaining to her how to swaddle with the Miracle Blanket was so easy -I can't imagine trying to teach a baby-sitter how to swaddle with a regular blanket! Well we have tried the Miracle Blanket for the past 3 nights and it really does work wonderfully! Upon trying it I found that my worries about having my son tightly wrapped for too long are not really an issue with this blanket because the design allows for a looser wrap than a traditional blanket, is still very effective, and still he "stays put" in it! He actually smiled last night when my husband went to swaddle him for bed time and as soon as he is wrapped and comfy he settles right down :) He sleeps very soundly in the blanket and does not wake himself by startling when using the blanket as he does without it. I had forwarded the Miracle Blanket to Hilary and Ian in the UK immediately upon receipt.... but did not managed to speak to them... but, guess what, they called last night... I am so very happy to say that I have a sleeping baby right now! The blanket is wonderful! He is all snuggled up and sleeping peacefully. He hardly cried while I wrapped him, and then he fell right to sleep. It is so easy to use. My husband and I
actually tried masking tape a couple times because any type of blanket we used would unwrap. Not this one! Plus, it is so lightweight I don't have to worry about overheating. I also love that I can leave his feet out. This works great with his swing- we were always struggling with thick blankets and not able to get him safely in his swing because both his legs had to go to one side and we couldn't use the seat belt. Your blanket is fabulous for the swing.

After marvelling at how deftly the nurses swaddled our little girl in the hospital, my wife and I tried to duplicate their efforts. We got a lesson from one nurse and read swaddling instructions in several books in our attempts to wrap our baby to keep her warm, snug, and secure. From the start, our child slept MUCH better swaddled, sleeping through the night very early. Unswaddled, she constantly woke herself up with the jerky and flailing arms and legs many babies seem to have. While she was very small, it wasn't hard to keep the swaddling blanket in place. But, as she grew bigger and stronger, the little Houdini quickly learned how to escape the wrap. We tried various arrangements and methods, but she got out of each one. Plus, she seemed to get awfully hot while swaddled because we had to use two blankets to keep her wrapped up.
One day, after hearing about a recent study concerning the benefits of swaddling, I searched online for more information and happened upon the Miracle Blanket website. The design seemed to make so much sense and appeared easy to use, so I ordered a Miracle Blanket for my daughter. By this time, she was several months old and we had all but given up swaddling because she either escaped the wrap or became overheated,so our child was no longer able to sleep through the night. The Miracle Blanket solved our problem. Most helpful was the foot pocket, because it allowed the baby some freedom to move her legs without becoming unwrapped. The internal "wings" kept her arms at her sides so she was able to calm herself when first put down to sleep and avoid waking herself up by fidgeting during sleep. We brought the Miracle Blanket to our daycare provider, who also was having trouble swaddling our child, and she agreed it was a fine solution to the problem. My mother saw it and immediately asked how she could order several Miracle Blankets for baby shower gifts. I know any parent would be delighted to receive such a helpful gift. He slept 6 hours straight last night, followed by 4 hours straight after a quick feeding. You can't complain about that at 1 month! It was so nice to get him and see that he was still swaddled after 6 hours. My husband ...[is] getting the hang of it now. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again.

I do love the blanket for the fact that I have trouble swaddling with regular blankets. This makes it very easy. As I aid before it does calm my little guy down, and I have followed the instructions on getting him into a deep sleep, I have even followed the techniques given by Dr. Karp's 'Happiest Baby On The Block' book.
I have tried the swing, the bouncy seat and the car seat - he wakes up and screams not anymore!

So far I love the blanket. I have twins. One is fussy, the other is fine.
It is hard to find blankets big enough to even swaddle her properly, then it is even harder to get it all back on in the middle of the night. It keeps her stiller than anything else. I am definitely happy I purchased this and will recommend it to my friends. I even brought it up in the baby support group today.

I had read Dr. Karp's book, The Happiest Baby on the Block, and I had also seen Dr. Karp demonstrate his swaddling method on a TV program, along with his other recommended calming methods. Also, in the hospital, a nurse demonstrated swaddling with receiving blankets to my daughter and her husband. But it was a very ineffective swaddle for any infant who squirms much, and our little Annika did squirm and fuss a lot.
None of the many blankets my daughter received as gifts were very effective blankets either, and none of them were large enough to do the swaddling as Dr. Karp recommended. So, I bought flannel material to have two larger blankets sewn for us. This time, the size was great, but Annika could still squirm out of them, and they became "scrunched up", especially when transferring Annika from one person to another. I searched for better blankets in the stores that would be of thinner, stretchier material. I finally located some that were the best option at that point. However, Annika's father was very frustrated trying to swaddle and quit trying even though I kept telling him it would help to calm Annika down when he was "on duty".
Finally, I searched the Internet for swaddling blankets. I wasted a lot of time until I finally discovered your site. I could tell immediately, upon seeing the simple drawings and instructions for your Miracle Blanket, that your blanket would finally do the trick.
By this time, my two daughters and their husbands were really tired of hearing about the wonders of swaddling. When I told them I had just ordered a blanket called the "Miracle Blanket", they all rolled their eyes. Soon, however, those eyes stopped rolling and started sleeping because the Miracle Blanket helped her to sleep more than short catnaps throughout the day. She would wake up with a smile after having good two-hour naps, instead of always waking up with a frown and crying after only very fitful, short naps. Finally, we could take some photographs of a smiling baby.
Because Annika still loves to be swaddled, but appears to have outgrown the blanket, we would love to have a little larger version of your Miracle Blanket.
By the way Annika's father couldn't believe how simple and effective the Miracle Blanket is, and he's telling other people about the wonders of swaddling, after discovering that swaddling was not difficult at all with the Miracle Blanket.

Blanket works like a miracle! First night home with out the blanket he only slept 2 hours max. After using the blanket, he sleeps from 3 to 5 hours and he's only 1 week old. I'll purchase this for all my friends as gifts!!!
